About YEPT

The mission of Youth Environmental Press team (YEPT) is to elevate the voices of middle school, high school, and college journalists writing about the environment and the climate crisis.

YEPT was originally an Indiana program, but in 2024, we began to expand to additional states. As of August, 2025, we will have a presence in seven states, and are looking to expand. We pay writers for their work as well as directors to run the program.

If you are interested in being part of YEPT, contact adult advisor Jim Poyser at Jim@earthcharterindiana.org. If you are interested in learning more about this program and live in Ohio, you can contact the Ohio chapter team directly at austin@laurelschool.org.
